Danger in Fives seems more internal-looking and intentional than Wombo’s earlier records. It’s a record of impressions, of instinct and trial. It’s ephemeral and kind of transitory, but memorable, and echoes around after each listen. Wombo hasn’t changed direction, but they’ve gotten closer to the core of what makes their music engrossing.
